Just an any old kind of day

My morning started with a knife to the brain. Okay, it was a migraine, but ya coulda fooled me. As I said when I called in sick to work, I just stayed very still and quiet in bed. Even managed to sleep a bit, which was awesome. Have I mentioned that I haven’t slept in 4 nights? So I guess the stress I’ve been under with my health and the new medications and the not sleeping just caught up with me.

I woke up around lunchtime and had lunch, then worked from home for a bit. I love the internet.

Nate came home and we ran some errands. We tried to go to Wood-n-Tap for dinner but the wait was 45 minutes. 45 MINUTES! They should just reserve a table for us every night. We would have waited, but we also had planned to see a movie so we got out of there. We made it to the movie, which was Man of the Year. It was … actually pretty good. However, I love politics and media, so I liked it. I could see how others might not, if they weren’t expecting and didn’t appreciate the weird turn the movie took. It was a comedy and then it became a political/corporate thriller. It kind of reminded me of The Net mixed with Dave. Anyway, I’d recommend it, but it’s one of Robin Williams’ darker comedies.

We had an interesting experience in that, about 15 minutes or so in, the audio track of the movie was replaced with the sleepy pre-preview elevator music drivel. It lasted for a good couple of minutes. That was finally resolved when, at another pivotal moment, the audio dropped entirely. Then the video switched to those weird pre-preview trivia screens, then started to burn. Eventually the problems were straightened out and the movie continued uninterrupted. And hey, score, free passes for the Crown!

Now we’re home and watching Newsradio. Does it get any better?

Ah, domestic bliss at its most boring.
