Candy for the brain
I had a rather unsettling morning at the doctor. I found out that I may not have rheumatoid arthritis like I've been told I have for the past few years. The doctor has no idea what I have. I have to go for more bloodwork, after failing at it last week. I went on Friday and they stuck me 5 times and got nothing. I went back on Saturday and it was okay, but it was an awful experience I thought I wouldn't have to repeat until October. No such luck.

So anyway, I remembered that the VMAs were on so I tuned in around 9ish, i think. Right when Jessica Simpson was on. Fortunately, Eric is doing one of his real-time reviews so I was caught up pretty quickly. I'm sorry I missed "Hips Don't Lie" and Sarah Silverman but I can live without the rest.

I just said to Nate "Why won't you watch these things and make fun of people with me? It's good for your soul!"

In short: Pink annoys me (though I loved that video, hilarious), MTV commercials are pretty funny, Snoop is still the King Pimp with his gin and juice, Beyonce is losing it, yay more Sarah! (reminding me that Chelsea Handler is just a poor man's Sarah Silverman), a BEST RINGTONE award???

I give up. Oh, and Nate now sees things my way.

The Immune System Hijinx of Bubble Girl
It seems that I'm just going to have to resign myself to catching every little bug and cold that goes around. We went to check out a potential rehearsal dinner location last night, it was really just a formality to go eat there because it was pretty much all set. Well, cross that one off because it made me sick as a dog. I'm constantly sniffling and getting fevers. Blah. I'm so lucky to have such an understanding workplace because I could very easily be screwed right now. Instead I'm just tired and frustrated. I do everything I'm supposed to and it doesn't get better. Fortunately, I've managed to stay positive and keep going, thinking "Imagine if I wasn't take such good care of myself, how much worse this would be!"

My Celebrity Lookalikes
This is an awful picture of me, and doesn't show off my new contact-ed self, but it's the only one that came up with any matches. Apparently without my glasses I don't look like anyone!

Four in the morning, tapped out, yawning ...
When I was in the hospital, my first morning in the regular ward (as opposed to ICU), I was awakened at 4am by a chipper fellow who informed me that he was there to take some blood. Despite my first instinct to kill him, I started talking to him. Turned out his regular shift, every day, was 4am to noon. I asked him how he did it and he said he just loved having the whole day free, practically.

Today, I worked that very same shift, although at my own job and not in a hospital. And you know what, that guy was right. It really wasn't so bad. It actually played out like a regular day. I was a little groggy when I first got in, then woke up, then started to crash around 10:30, which would have been about 3:00 on a regular day. I'm not saying I'd like to do it every day. Going to bed at 8 sucked, mostly because I had to miss both "The Girls Next Door" and "Bridezillas." But, as a whole, the day really wasn't that bad. Plus that sweet nap I took from 1-4 this afternoon was heaven in an air-conditioned room on top of a memory foam mattress topper and under a down comforter.

Speaking of which *yawn* I think St. Peter's calling to me right now ... mmmm ... sleep ...

Pay Your Bills, Joe

Pay Your Bills

This was what http://www.joe2006.com looked like at about 8pm yesterday. Site's still down (wording has changed to "This account is under construction. Please check back soon. It will be available shortly."), only now Joe's camp is claiming that Lamont supporters "hacked" his site.

I'm just sick to my stomach over this. Nothing drives me crazier than computer-illiterate people spouting off about technology like they know what they're talking about. The talking heads are all a-buzz, lapping up this hacking story like (rancid, curdled) milk. It's a low, dirty trick.

The other "theory," from slightly more knowledgable monkeys is that Lamont supporters launched a DOS on Joe's hosting company. However, other sites on the same server are doing just fine, ruling that out. Will anyone listen? No. Just a lot of loud clamoring about how obviously Lamont's supporters-- or even Lamont's campaign itself-- did this to deter voters from voting for Joe. What, they can't vote without a website? And if Joe were really so concerned about the website, he could have set up a new one on a new host in a matter of minutes.

The other shady thing is that the Lieberman camp is claiming that this vicious attack (*yawn*) crippled their email, too, rendering them unable to send out last-minute appeals to potential voters. So why are people reporting that they received emails from joe2006.com last night and this morning? Hmm? Explain that, Lieberminion.

What it looks like here is, at the very least, Joe's campaign was not prepared for the amount of traffic and the site crashed. At the most, and what amuses me, is that Joe didn't pay the bills and the host suspended his site.

Oh well. The chips will fall where they may, as I said a couple of weeks ago. Just sickening that such a dirty, underhanded trick could send this state to hell in a handbasket for 6 more years. As for me, I already voted, and tonight I'll be at one of my town's polling places holding signs for Ned and then reporting the election results to Lamont HQ at 8 when the polls close.

Go Ned!
I'm voting today ... are you?
This is our chance to make a difference. To shake up the old and tired and bring some creativity to the Senate. Old Joe's gotten complacent. He takes his position for granted.

So get out and vote! Here's the list of places to go. Find yours and get out there. The polls have already been open for two hours now!
